Share your journey with us - how did you get to where you are today?
After years of living with a chronic illness called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, I struggled to easily explain what I was going through. Fast forward throughout my teenage years, I faced ableism at my university from professors and students not understanding what I was dealing with. As this happened, I started making art work about the different things that I went through by using photo, video and writing. After several years of that, I started to post my experience online and once I ddi that I found an amazing community of other people dealing with the same things as I. The rest is history.

Describe a moment in your  journey where someone's support in you accelerated your goals?

During my challenges in undergrad, I dealt with a handful of teachers who were not helpful at all. However, there were some that were absolutely amazing. It was the teachers that fully embraced my need for accommodations with assignments and projects that impacted my ability to tell my story through art. For that, I will always be grateful.

How would you like to see networks for ambitious women change?

I believe that ambitious women may sometimes struggle with a feeling of not-enoughness. The feeling that no matter what we must not take rest and keep grinding towards the end goal- whatever that may be. But the truth is we all deserve rest, and frankly we need it. I would love to see ambitious women start to rest without hesitation, recharge and ground themselves. Also, regarding networking…women need to feel less intimidated by one another, women need to stop comparing themselves to other people, women need to stop competing with one another and start collaborating and uplifting each other. It can be so challenging to network without feeling like we are not enough or that we are too much when we should be focused on who we actually are and showing up as that woman.

I believe that it’s imperative to always bring people with you wherever you go. You should be able to learn and uplift all of your friends without an ounce of jealousy, and with lots of love!
